Faster ‘hidden’ digital signage PC from Trident supports dual displays
A new faster version of Trident's ‘hidden' fanless PC for digital signage and media player
applications also supports dual displays. Popular in retail outlets, restaurants, airports and similar environments, the VESA PC units bolt onto the standard VESA display mounting, allowing it to be integrated invisibly and inaudibly into digital signage and other display installations.
The new VESA PC offers a faster, 1.6GHz VIA Eden ULV processor, as well as an additional DVI-I display interface allowing up to two analogue displays to be driven from a single PC. It now also supports 2.5 inch SATA mechanical and Solid State drives. The new unit is fully compatible with earlier versions - it has the same 1 inch thin form factor, external connectors and VESA compliant mounting holes. The VESA PC It is equally suitable for use with a compliant wall mount, rail mount or post mount.
Trident is offering the PC as a diskless thin client with a flash drive, or with a SATA hard disk drive. It is a fully featured unit, with hardware able to support MPEG2/4 and WMV9 acceleration, and all the communications, video and other features that are found in a standard desktop or laptop. Processor options include a 1GHz VIA C7 as well as the 1.6GHz VIA C7-M processor. The new unit offers a DVI-I interface as well as an additional VGA and S-Video inputs and outputs. As a result, it can drive up to two analogue displays, or one digital and one analogue display. Other I/O options include a Gigabit Ethernet port, optional WLAN support, 4 USB ports, and 6-channel audio. The unit runs from a 12V power supply and is supplied in a ventless enclosure preventing issues with dust. The overall size of the PC is 180mm x 298mm x 25.4mm deep, and it weighs just 2Kg. An IR remote control is available.
